Boys & Girls Clubs across North Carolina offer programs that help young people grow academically, physically, creatively, and professionally—at every stage of development.

Six Core Program Areas.

Boys & Girls Clubs of America has built a program model grounded in research and designed to meet young people where they are. Every program area below is available across NC member Clubs, giving kids ages 6–18 consistent access to the support they need.

Group 9 (12)

From career exploration to post-secondary preparation, Workforce Readiness programs help teens assess their skills and interests, connect with mentors and community partners, and build the knowledge and mindset they need to succeed in the professional world. Programs like CareerLaunch guide teens ages 13–18 as they explore career paths, make sound educational decisions, and prepare for the world of work.

Education programs give Club members the tools to succeed academically—from hands-on STEM learning and homework help to financial literacy skills and college readiness support. The goal is to help every young person stay on track, graduate, and be ready for whatever comes next.

Group 11 (11)

Character and leadership programs guide Club members toward active citizenship, community engagement, and stronger decision-making skills. Through programs like Torch Club and Keystone Club, young people build leadership qualities and a sense of responsibility at key stages in their development.

Group 12 (5)

Health and wellness programs focus on improving the overall well-being of Club members by increasing physical activity, teaching good nutrition, and helping young people develop healthy relationships. Topics range from fitness and self-esteem to substance prevention and internet safety.

Group 13 (2)

Sports, fitness, and recreation programs help young people lead more active lives while learning about the benefits of proper nutrition and physical fitness. With support from partners like the PGA and Major League Baseball, these programs combine skill-building with fun in ways that keep kids engaged and healthy.

Group 14

Arts programs give members opportunities to develop interests and skills in visual arts, creative writing, and the performing arts. From drawing and photography to drama and spoken word, these year-round programs encourage creative expression for Club members ages 6 to 18.
